Lake in Central Africa
Also known in the past as Mpumbu, Lake Nkunda, Lake Nkuna, Lake Ntamo or Lake Ngobila, a broad, lake-like swelling of the lower Congo River in Central Africa, a natural basin before the river tumbles into the Livingstone Falls. It marks an international border, with the Republic of the Congo on its northern side and the Democratic Republic of the Congo on its southern side, and the two capitals, Brazzaville and Kinshasa, face each other from opposite shores.
