Dam in Ghana
Also called the Volta Dam, a hydroelectric dam in the Akosombo gorge on the Volta River, in southeastern Ghana, part of the Volta River Authority. Building it flooded part of the Volta River Basin, which went on to become Lake Volta.

World's largest artificial reservoir by surface area, located in Ghana
By surface area, the biggest artificial reservoir on Earth, held back by the Akosombo Dam, which produces a large share of Ghana's electricity. It lies wholly inside Ghana and covers 8,502 square kilometres (3,283 sq mi).

Square in Ghana
Also called Independence Square, a public square in Accra, Ghana, between the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and the Accra Sports Stadium. The yearly independence celebrations and other national events are often held here, and it is the venue for every civic and military parade and for other gatherings of the nation.
