Historic fortress and symbol of Haitian independence
Commonly called La Citadelle, a large fortress from the early 19th century at Milot, Nord, Haiti. It sits on top of Bonnet à l'Evêque mountain, roughly 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) uphill from Milot, 27 kilometres (17 mi) south of Cap-Haïtien and 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) southwest of the Three Bays Protected Area.

Historic building in Milot, Haiti; royal residence of Henri Christophe (King Henry I)
The main royal residence of Henry I, King of Haiti, better known as Henri Christophe. It stands in Milot commune; the Citadelle Laferrière is roughly five kilometres (3 mi) away to its southwest, and the Three Bays Protected Area thirteen kilometres (8 mi) away to its northeast.

Mountain in Haiti
Also known as Morne La Selle, the highest peak of Haiti, rising to 2,574 metres (8,445 ft) above sea level. It belongs to the Chaîne de la Selle mountain range, and a pine forest grows on it.

Former official residence of the president of Haiti
Until the 2010 Haiti earthquake badly damaged it, the official home of Haiti's president: a palace in Port-au-Prince, the capital, looking onto Place L'Ouverture near the Champs de Mars.

Ruined Roman Catholic cathedral in Port-au-Prince, Haiti
Often called Port-au-Prince Cathedral, a former cathedral in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Built from 1884 to 1914 and dedicated on December 13, 1928, it served as the Roman Catholic Archdiocese's cathedral church.

Hotel in Port-au-Prince, Haiti
A former hotel in central Port-au-Prince, Haiti, built as a private mansion in the late 19th century and later turned into a hotel. In its heyday it was nicknamed the "Greenwich Village of the Tropics", playing host to famous actors, writers and artists such as Mick Jagger and Ernest Hemingway.
