About Maldives
Officially the Republic of Maldives, and historically the Maldive Islands, an island country of South Asia in the Indian Ocean, close to where the Arabian Sea ends in the southeast. It lies about 750 kilometres from mainland Asia, southwest of Sri Lanka and India.
