Volcanic archipelago in New Zealand
A New Zealand archipelago 465 km (289 mi) south of the South Island. The main Auckland Island, covering 460 km² (180 sq mi), is ringed by smaller islands, Adams, Enderby, Disappointment, Ewing, Rose, Dundas and Green, for 570 km² (220 sq mi) in all.

Volcano in New Zealand
Standing inside Tongariro National Park, where New Zealand's Taupō Volcanic Zone and the North Island volcanic plateau end in the south: an active stratovolcano. Ohakune is 23 km (14 mi) away to its southwest, and Lake Taupō's southern shore 23 km (14 mi) away to its northeast.

Volcano in North Island of New Zealand
Officially Taranaki Maunga, and also called Mount Egmont: a stratovolcano, now dormant, rising on the North Island's west coast in New Zealand's Taranaki region. With a height of 2,518 metres (8,261 ft), it is second on the island only to Mount Ruapehu.

Compound volcano in New Zealand
