Officially the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the most southerly island country of the Caribbean, made up of Trinidad and Tobago plus several smaller islets. Port of Spain is the capital, and Chaguanas the biggest and most populous municipality. Its islands are the southern end of the eastern Caribbean chain, close to South America, north to northeast of Venezuela and northwest of Guyana.
