A lighthouse on Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos Islands, above North Creek. The 60-foot-tall (18 m) tower was finished in 1852 by the British architect Alexander Gordon to warn sailors of the shallow reef.

Historical plantation in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos
A former sisal and cotton plantation of 5,000 acres (2,000 ha) in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands. Thomas Stubbs, a British Loyalist, owned it from the late 1700s until 1810, and his brother Wade Stubbs after him. Part of it is now owned and run as a historic site by the Turks and Caicos National Trust.

A British Overseas Territory made up of two groups of tropical islands, the bigger Caicos Islands and the smaller Turks Islands, in the Atlantic's Lucayan Archipelago, in the northern West Indies. Tourism and offshore finance are what they are best known for. The World Factbook put the resident population at 59,367 in 2023, third among the British overseas territories.
